Petroleum Coke Prices Are Falling, Will Graphite Electrode Prices Follow?

Looking for insights into the latest UHP graphite electrode prices? Here’s what you need to know!

The lastest research on ultra-high power (UHP) graphite electrodes shows that:
UHP450mm electrodes (length: 1800mm–2100mm) are priced between 16,400–16,800 RMB/ton. UHP600mm electrodes are currently ranging between 18,000–19,000 RMB/ton.

In February, petroleum coke prices saw major fluctuations, reaching an average of 3,900 RMB/ton in key production areas like Jinzhou, Daqing, and Fushun. However, early March brought a slight cooling in prices.

With March marking the steel production season, demand for graphite electrodes is rising as more furnaces restart. Despite this, electrode prices remain high, and many steel mills are still in a wait-and-see mode.

Even with a slight drop in petroleum coke prices, UHP graphite electrodes remain firmly priced with strong market activity. The ongoing negotiation between buyers and suppliers suggests that prices may not drop anytime soon.
